We took a quick day trip to La Conner to check out the flowers, restaurants, hotels and docking facilities. Check the website http://www.visitskagitvalley.com/ to determine when the best weeks are to visit the surrounding area to view the Daffodils and Tulips which bloom in April and May. The website https://www.townoflaconner.org has the La Conner marina information as well as places to visit and stay in La Conner.
Before you enter the Swinomish channel on the way to La Conner, pay attention and stay between the channel markers as the water gets shallow at low tide. You have two choices for places to dock. The public floats can be used if you stay for less than 24 hours and cost 0.50 cents per foot (see photo below for rules). Note - its a good practice to carry cash for your dock fees as this makes paying easier. These are very nice docks adjacent to downtown and close to the majority of the the shops and restaurants. If these are full, proceed up the channel to the marina.
The La Conner channel Lodge is very close and a convenient place to stay overnight. Most of the restaurants downtown have decks overlooking the boats and channel. These offer beautiful views and are great places to dine and relax as the sun sets.
